About the freeride area of Sella Nevea, Tarvisio and Nassfeld

Area facts, conditions and seasonal influences

The areas of freeride Alpe Adria could not be better, offering the ideal playground for everyone – from beginner to expert! Starting from gentle terrain at Nassfeld and Tarvisio one can ride the steepest slopes up to high alpine regions with magnificient views all over the Julian Alps and also our second promoted region – Hohe Tauern. There is gentle terrain between 25-40 degrees at all areas, but mostly at Nassfeld and Sella Nevea (mid regions only). At Nassfeld you can get ready and train your technique for steeper terrain like you will find a lot of at the regions of Sella Nevea and Tarvisio. In Tarvisio the access is limited to a view slopes / areas which might be ideal for a day when it is dumping hard. When skies clear up and conditions are settled, you will find nearly unlimited playgrounds at Sella Nevea, especially (and most of it) above the treeline!

Sella Nevea & Bovec (Kanin Area)

You will find everything here. Gentle slopes and steep gullies, rocky walls with demanding descents in between, powder treelines, open faces. Long downhills are possible up to 1500m in altitude difference. As it is highly alpine terrain, conditions must have settled to enjoy every freeride possible. Our local mountain- & freeride guides will guide you with their best expertise and due to experience over years in this area.

Tarvisio

With respect towards environment, we have limited offers in this area. You will get information about the possibilities only by phone contact.

Nassfeld

Most of the freerides are somewhere between beginner and moderate level. A few treasures are also demanding and steeper where you will need good technique. About 70% of the runs are lower then the treeline but the woods are wide and the treeruns really offering an interesting challenging ride with a nice flow. When it is dumping heavily, skiing in this area with good knowledge about the runs is also possible.
